Bill is a Urological Surgeon who has had an association with the St George Hospital for more than 25 years. He pioneered minimally invasive prostate treatments in Australia and was the first person to perform both Cryotherapy and High Intensity Focussed Ultrasound (HIFU) for the treatment of prostate cancer. Both these procedures were based at the St George campus and helped to establish the St George Cancer Care Centre as one of the pre-eminent centres for the management of prostate cancer in Australia.
Current research and clinical interests are focussed on the treatment of post-therapy side effects and complications. He is widely published and is regularly asked to conduct training symposia and workshops in all parts of the world.
Bill continues to serve as the Secretary of the Australasian Urological Foundation. He is a past Chair of the Board of Urology and has had an active and senior role in the Societe’ International d’Urologie (SIU) – the only international Urological body dedicated to urological education and philanthropy throughout the world, especially developing nations – with an aim to maximise the urological care of people universally.
